Day 1
Home – Melbourne Zoo
Your flight arrives into Melbourne around noon, and you’ll have the opportunity to meet your fellow travellers and purchase your lunch. Our Melbourne experience begins at the Melbourne
Zoo; modelled on the London Zoo it was opened in 1862, making it the oldest in Australia. Spend an afternoon exploring and see over 300 animals from all over the world. Later check into our hotel and relax over a three course dinner.
Day 2
City Tour – Shopping – Melbourne Museum – Cakes, Sweets and Treats
Our day starts with a coach tour of the city, including Collins Street, the Botanic Gardens, Federation Square, MCG and Albert park, with time to stop and learn more at the sombre Shrine
of Remembrance. Travel to the best cake strip in Melbourne—Acland Street in St Kilda. Browse the many cake shop window displays and take the opportunity to indulge. Melbourne is known for its shopping and today we'll spend the day chasing a bargain or two. Visit the Queen Victoria Markets where you can purchase your lunch. This afternoon continue your shopping at the factory outlets in Collingwood, or instead visit the Melbourne Museum for some history and a change of pace. This evening dine in Lygon Street, a famous food precinct before taking a stroll through this restaurant mecca.
Day 3
Neighbours Film Set – MCG Tour – Giant Star
Everybody needs good Neighbours—come and see Ramsay street, guided by an official Neighbours expert. Visit the streets and sets where it is filmed and fingers crossed we may even meet some of the cast and crew. After purchasing your lunch, travel to the home of Australian sport, the MCG. Tour and remember 1956 Olympics, Shane Warne’s 700th test wicket, Trevor Chappell’s underarm incident, the 1970 Carlton and Collingwood Grand final and moments like Billy Graham’s 1959 Crusade with over 130,000 attendees. Next, take to the sky for
a ride on the world’s 7th largest ferris wheel, the Melbourne Star, delivering incredible views of the Melbourne Skyline, before returning to our hotel for dinner.
Day 4
St Paul's Cathedral – National Victorian Gallery – Home
Visit St Paul’s Cathedral, a striking part of the Melbourne skyline. The foundation stone was laid in 1880 and the final steeple completed in 1932, at 312ft this was the highest building in Melbourne at the time. The National Gallery Victoria is renowned throughout the world. Enjoy a guided tour of the collection and purchase your lunch before our transfer to the airport for our
flights home.
