Day 1

Sydney - Sea Cliff Bridge - Batemans Bay
Depart from the Hunter, Central Coast and Sydney. Take in the amazing views from the Sea Cliff Bridge in the northern suburbs of Wollongong. Cross your fingers that the blowhole of Kiama will be blowing before arriving late afternoon at the Best Western Sunseeker Motor Inn in Batemans Bay for our overnight stay.

L, D

Day 2

Batemans Bay - Eden
Morning tea will be at the fishing village of Bermagui, made famous by American author and big game fisherman Zane Grey. The next stop along the coast is Tathra and its maritime museum. The tour will duck inland to Bega for a cheese tasting and lunch, before stopping at the old whaling and now whale conservation town of Eden. In the afternoon, board the Cat Balou for a hale and dolphin watching cruise, where we will learn about the vibrant local fishing industry. Stay overnight at the Bayview Motor Inn.

B, L, D

Day 3

Eden - Lakes Entrance
After crossing the border from New South Wales into Victoria, travel through State Forest timber country to Cann River. At Orbost the tour will follow the Snowy River to its outlet into the sea at Marlo and this afternoon, enjoy a cruise from Lakes Entrance. Stay overnight at Bellevue On The Lakes, in the heart of town, where there are great opportunities to take a walk over the bridge to the beach area. Dinner this evening is at your own expense, giving you the opportunity to dine at one of the local restaurants or cafés.

B, L

Day 4

Lakes Entrance - Melbourne
In Bairnsdale we visit St Mary’s Catholic Church, known for its distinctively tall tower and the murals on its ceiling and walls painted by Italian artist Francesco Floreani during the Great Depression. Lunch will be a treat today during a visit to Darnum Music Village. Created by one man’s love of music, this is a very special place (and one of Victoria’s best kept secrets) that will take you on a musical journey into the
past, present and future. Late afternoon, settle in for the next five nights at the Best Western Premier Hotel, situated in the centre of the small suburb of Kew, with coffee shops, a chemist, supermarket, hairdresser and newsagency all only a short walking distance away.

B, L, D

Day 5

Melbourne
Today starts with a visit to the famous Queen Victoria Markets. Offering a wide range of fresh produce, meats and seafoods to clothing and all sorts of nick-nacks, you are sure to unearth a bargain. Later, enjoy a guided tour of Rippon Lea House, originally one of Melbourne’s most stately homes but now better known as a location for the ABC series Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. From here we pass through Melbourne’s exclusive shopping domain of Chapel Street, then on to St Kilda and Acland Street for lunch (own expense). In the afternoon, discover the National Sports Museum at the MCG covering all
sports that have shaped our nation, not just AFL and cricket. Return to our hotel for dinner.

B, D

Day 6

Geelong
A local guide joins the coach in Geelong for a guided tour of the city, explaining the significance of the carved bollards that have made this part of Geelong famous. After boarding a cruiser at the town pier, view the sheer size and beauty of Corio Bay and its inlets, then relax and explore Geelong. Options include visiting the National Wool Museum (own expense), riding the heritage carousel, or having a dip in the Geelong ocean baths. Following dinner this evening, we will reboard the coach and go searching for the best Christmas lights!

B, D

Day 7

Merry Christmas!
After a sleep in for some or a morning church service for others, enjoy a Christmas morning tea with all of your favourites, including rum balls, rocky road, cherries, stone fruit and lots of other goodies. For lunch enjoy a Christmas feast with all the trimmings. The afternoon is one of leisure, before a lighter dinner this evening.

B, L, D

Day 8

Boxing Day - Free Day or Options
Today is the day to relax or further explore the city. We have suggested packages below that can be altered to suit individual requirements and the coach will be available to go into the city for any of the below activities. Please note that these are at an additional cost.
Option 1 - A full day at the Boxing Day Test Match with transfers to and from the game. Help spur the Aussies on to play their best against India in front of what will be the largest crowd of the series.
Option 2 - Christmas Sales and High Tea at the Windsor Hotel. They say the best shopping is in Melbourne and the best sales are on Boxing Day. Visit the Bourke Street Mall, featuring Myer and David Jones as well as hundreds of specialty stores. Regroup in the afternoon for the utter decadence of high tea at the Windsor Hotel.
Option 3 - Travel the Great Ocean Road in a GrayLine coach. This tour departs at 8am and returns around 8pm and will feature stunning views of the natural and man-made beauty along the shipwrecked coast.
Option 4 - Botanical Gardens and the travelling Colonial Tramcar Restaurant. Explore Melbourne’s biggest garden at your leisure. At lunchtime, take your seat on board the world’s only travelling tramcar restaurant. Dine in style, enjoying a three course meal and drinks as your tram traverses the Melbourne network.
Other activities to consider are trips to Melbourne Zoo, Melbourne Gaol, a Yarra River cruise or wine tasting. Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.

B

Day 9

Melbourne - Healesville - Wagga Wagga
Today depart Melbourne and head northeast to Healesville. Enjoy a tour of the award winning Healesville Sanctuary, a bushland haven for native Australian wildlife that is dedicated to fighting extinction. The coach will continue on to Wagga Wagga for our overnight stay at the International Hotel Wagga Wagga.

B, D
