Day 1 Wed Nov 29

Your tour begins as we journey via Cunninghams Gap to Queensland's Rose and Rodeo City - Warwick, stopping for morning tea along the way. Take time to chat with your fellow travellers as we continue on to Tenterfield for lunch. This afternoon travel via Glen Innes before arriving at the All Seasons Motel, Armidale (Ph 02 6772 9800) for our overnight stay.

Day 2 Thu Nov 30

Following breakfast, continue on through Uralla and Moonbi before arriving in Tamworth. Visit the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame which was formed to collect, preserve and display Australia's country and traditional music heritage. Following lunch at the Tamworth Services Club, travel to the historic town of Mudgee, renowned for its heritage streetscapes and charming old public buildings and grand old homes. Stay overnight at the Parklands Resort and Conference Centre Mudgee (Ph 02 6372 4500).

Day 3 Fri Dec 1

The countryside offers scenic views of vineyards and hillsides as our journey continues into one of Australia's most famous gold mining areas. Travel via Sofala and on to Australia's oldest inland settlement - Bathurst. Enjoy lunch at the Bathurst RSL Club before taking in more sweeping views as we travel through Blayney, Cowra, and Young. Settle in for the next 2 nights at the Wattle Tree Motel, Cootamundra (Ph 02 6942 2688), just a short distance past Young.

Day 4 Sat Dec 2

Just south of Cootamundra, is the town of Junee, a quaint rural town which became one of the most important centres for NSW Railways after the Roundhouse was built. This morning we visit the Roundhouse Museum which boasted the largest turntable, at 100 feet, when built in 1942. Following morning tea, we travel on to Young were you will enjoy lunch at the Young Services Club. This afternoon is yours to enjoy the activities of the National Cherry Festival. A highlight of the day's events will be the colourful National Cherry Festival Street Parade in the late afternoon. Purchase your own dinner this evening from one of the food outlets available in Anderson Park or alternatively, you may choose to dine in one of the food outlets in the town centre.

Day 5 Sun Dec 3

Return to Young this morning and take time to wander through the festival stalls at Carrington Park. Visit the Lambing Flat Museum before departing Young mid morning. Travel to Cowra where we will enjoy lunch while visiting the stunning Japanese Gardens. The rocky hillside, manicured hedges, waterfalls and streams provide a serene environment for a myriad of birdlife. Continue on via Canowindra, Molong and Wellington before arriving into Dubbo where we will stay for two nights at the Comfort Inn Blue Lagoon (Ph 02 6882 4444).

Day 6 Mon Dec 4

Following breakfast visit the Taronga Western Plains Zoo where the animals are all waiting for your visit. See the hundreds of animals from around the world as we drive along the circuit which meanders through the natural bushland and around the large open style exhibits. Next, visit the Old Dubbo Gaol which is now over 150 years old. Learn about the barbaric prison life and see the displays which provide a realistic and fascinating insight into a bygone era.

Day 7 Tue Dec 5

Travel to Narrabri, situated in the heart of the Namoi Valley. A visit to Sawn Rocks will leave you awe struck and is a great place for our picnic lunch. This afternoon's touring takes you through the New England towns of Inverell and Glen Innes, before arriving in Tenterfield for our overnight stay at the Best Western The Henry Parkes (Ph 02 6736 1066).

Day 8 Wed Dec 6

Today we travel across the Granite Belt for a visit to Law Dogs Australia. This is the first privately owned training kennel that is open to the public to see puppies and adult dogs going through their law enforcement training and doing demonstrations of protection, detection and agility. Travel to Warwick for lunch at the Condamine Sports Club before arriving back into Brisbane where your transfers will be arranged.
