Day 1

Home – Adelaide – Proud Mary
After your flight into Adelaide, enjoy a short sightseeing tour and high tea at the Stamford Grand Glenelg before your transfer to the Proud Mary this evening. Enjoy a drink at the bar before
supper. As you cruise, floodlights illuminate the shore. This is an excellent opportunity to see the River environment in a different perspective and may allow for a view of some of the nocturnal wildlife, especially birds such as night herons, owls and coots.

Day 2

Proud Mary – Murray River – Walkers Flat
Enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast as your cruise continues upstream before a mid-morning arrival in picturesque Mannum, the birthplace of the river boat trade. Here you may choose to take a tour of this historic town. Lunch will be served aboard the Proud Mary as you cruise to Walkers Flat. This evening is ‘Australiana Night’ featuring typically Australian dishes. This will be followed by a guided Nocturnal Discovery Tour, an insight into the abundant wildlife including the Southern Hairy Nosed Wombat. It’s a perfect opportunity to view the nocturnal animals of Australia in their natural habitat.

B, L, D

Day 3

Proud Mary – Walkers Flat – Blanchetown
Departing Walkers Flat we cruise further upstream, arriving this afternoon at Swan Reach, one of the most ambitious aquaculture projects undertaken in Australia. Later your cruise takes you past Moorundie Creek, named after the Aboriginal tribe that lived there. The Proud Mary moors overnight on a beautiful part of the riverbank amongst towering River Red Gums at Blanchetown and tonight you will enjoy a light dinner and then some fun with a Trivia Night.

B, L, D

Day 4

Proud Mary Christmas – Blanchetown – Morgan
Celebrate Christmas as we cruise through Lock 1, enjoying the Captain’s talk on the River Murray. Enjoy Christmas lunch with all the trimmings on board before we arrive at the historic town of Morgan, on the Great Elbow, north-west bend on the River Murray. Take a tour of the heritage buildings including customs house and courthouse of this once booming town. Reboard the Proud Mary and cruise up to visit Caudo Winery and Vineyard including cellar door tasting. The Proud Mary will then cruise back to Morgan where you will secure overnight.

B, L, D

Day 5

Morgan – Portee
You will wake this morning in one of the most unspoilt and picturesque areas of the River Murray. Enjoy an environmental discovery walk of Portee Station, and look for evidence of an
ancient Aboriginal civilisation – a huge canoe tree still stands. This evening following dinner, let the board games begin!

B, L, D

Day 6

Proud Mary – Portee – Big Bend
Head downstream to Swan Reach where you will be taken on an interesting Yabbie and Almond farm tour. With a local guide, passengers are guided through the complex covering 10,000m2 of ponds. After lunch we arrive mid-afternoon at the Big Bend, where the cliffs are spectacular and a highlight of your cruise is a guided tour lead by an ecologist aboard a small boat through the lagoons and inlets of Big Bend. This evening there is a traditional Australian BBQ around a campfire on the riverbanks with live entertainment.

B, L, D

Day 7

Big Bend – Mannum
This morning there will be time to further explore the tranquil Australian bush. Continue downstream through some of the most spectacular scenery on the entire River Murray system, arriving at Ngaut Ngaut – a historical Aboriginal site. Here with your Aboriginal tour guide you will discover carvings and paintings on cliff faces made between 3,000 and 20,000 years ago. Late afternoon arrive in Mannum for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a formal Captain’s Dinner.

B, L, D

Day 8

Mannum – Murray Bridge
Cruise to Woodlane and be joined by our guide showing us the permanent watercourse from waterfalls, through swamps and wetlands. Reedy Creek and the waterfalls played a significant
part in the lives of the ancient Nganguruku and Ngaralta Aboriginal Tribes. Today, lunch is a superb buffet prepared with fresh local produce. This afternoon there will be more spectacular
scenery before the vessel ties up once more in Murray Bridge. Transfer to your overnight accommodation in Adelaide.

B, L, D

Day 9

Adelaide – Home
Today take a fresh food and winery tour of McLaren Vale, stopping at Fruchocs for some delicious treats, Penny Hill Wines for a tasting and relax with lunch at Alma Hotel. This
afternoon, transfer to Adelaide Airport for your flights home.
