Day 1

Home – Hobart – Bicheno
Our tour begins with a morning flight into Hobart arriving around midday. Purchase some lunch on your flight or at the airport. Travel to Buckland Church to admire the 14th century stained glass window before continuing on for a tour of the Swansea Bark Mill. Our journey then takes us north along the coastline to Bicheno, looking across at the Freycinet Peninsula.

Day 2

Bicheno – Pyengana – Lavender Farm – Launceston
The smell of fresh baked scones and double dollop cream will be our introduction to the award winning Pyengana Dairy. Later take a short walk through the ancient myrtle rainforest of Weldborough Pass before a visit to Legerwood to admire the tree carvings commemorating the war heroes of the region. Travel via the rich agricultural region of Scottsdale to Bridestowe Lavender Estate where there will be time to browse the gift shop and visitor centre. Later this afternoon arrive in Launceston where we will be entertained by the mischievous Japanese Monkeys in the city park before checking into our accommodation.

Day 3

Cataract Gorge – Tamar River Cruise – Penny Royal
At the beautiful Cataract Gorge, you can choose to take the chairlift across the lake, take one of the walks that criss-cross the river, or simply stop and admire the wildlife that call this oasis home. Enjoy a cruise on the Tamar River and this afternoon, take a step back in time at Penny Royal, for an afternoon of re-enactments of early bushrangers, convict days and even gold panning. The rest of the afternoon is yours to spend exploring the shops or galleries of Launceston before dinner tonight at the Country Club.

Day 4

Deloraine – Sheffield – Somerset
Departing Launceston, travel to the beautiful village of Deloraine, where the fascinating history of the region is woven into quilts at ‘Yarns Artwork in Silk’. Continue on to Sheffield to see
the wonderful outdoor art gallery of murals that have been painted throughout the village. Take time to purchase your lunch before continuing to the Axeman's Hall of Fame, dedicated to the pioneering timber industry of the north west coast. Settle into our Somerset accommodation overlooking the Cam River.

Day 5

Wynyard – Woolnorth Station – Cape Grim – ‘The Nut’
Today take in some of the most picturesque country of northern Tasmania. Circular Head, Boat Harbour and Table Cape are regions rich in agriculture including potato, beans, onions,
pyrethrum daisies and opium poppies. After enjoying morning tea at Boat Harbour, we head west arriving at Cape Grim, where the nearest land west is South America. Our tour of Woolnorth Station will include the wind farms as well as the historic homestead and a paddock to plate lunch showcasing local produce. This afternoon take a chairlift to the top of the Nut which offers panoramic views of Stanley and across to King Island.

Day 6

Wynyard – Cradle Mountain – Queenstown
Travel to Cradle Mountain National Park, enjoying the spectacular mountain scenery of jagged peaks and hear stories of pioneers to the area, enjoying your picnic lunch in the beautiful surrounds. There is time for a walk at Dove Lake Walk or take the boardwalk to Pencil Pine Waterfalls before continuing to the Copper mining town of Queenstown.

Day 7

Franklin Gordon River Cruise
Today we will cruise the incomparable Gordon River into the heart of Tasmania’s wilderness and across the magnificent Macquarie Harbour. Pass by salmon farms and Sarah Island, and
at Heritage Landing, take a stroll along the boardwalk through the world’s last remaining temperate rainforest, featuring myrtles and leatherwood trees. After a smorgasbord lunch onboard, travel from Strahan back to our motel for dinner.

Day 8

Queenstown – Nelson Falls – Hobart
Departing Queenstown, we cross Lake Burbury before stopping for a short walk to see the beautiful Nelson Falls. Travel to Derwent Bridge for lunch, before a visit to the Wall in the Wilderness, a stunning sculpture carved from three-metre high wooden panels, telling the history of the people in the harsh Central Highlands region. Journey through the hop fields of the Derwent Valley before arriving in Hobart for our overnight stay.

Day 9

Hobart – Mawson's Hut – Port Arthur
After breakfast we visit the replica of Mawson’s Hut, constructed by the Australian Antarctic Expedition. Travel to historic Port Arthur to purchase your own lunch before a tour of the
convict settlement, including a cruise around the Isle of the Dead. This afternoon, take in the spectacular views of the coastline at the Tasman Arch and Devil’s Kitchen before returning to our accommodation in Port Arthur for dinner.

Day 10

Port Arthur – Hobart – Home
Our last day starts with a smile as we pass through the picturesque village of Doo Town, reading the humorous names for their shacks. Travel to historic Richmond, where you can purchase your morning tea before making our way to Hobart Airport for your flight home.
