Beginning with a five course degustation dinner at Penfolds Magill Estate and including Maggie Beer’s Farm, Farmers Markets, Haigh’s Chocolate Factory and a three course dinner in Melbourne’s Tramcar Restaurant, the dining experiences are punctuated by the amazing scenery of the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, the Yarra Valley and the Cape Jaffa Lighthouse in the town of Kingston SE.

Day 1

Home – Adelaide – Penfolds Magill Estate Degustation Dinner
After your flight arriving into Adelaide this afternoon, take in a tour of Adelaide before checking into our accommodation for the next three nights. Freshen up and get ready for tonight’s dining in one of Adelaide’s premier restaurants. Setting the standard for our food and wine experience, tonight we enjoy a magnificent five course degustation menu and premium wine
package at Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant. Our tour includes the historic winery, the vintage cellar and the underground maturation cellars.

Day 2

Adelaide Farmers Markets, National Wine Centre Tastings
The Adelaide Showground Farmers Markets is famous for its local produce. The markets also conduct a number of cooking lessons during the morning with tasting. Relax with a picnic lunch of fresh local produce from the markets among the roses in the botanic gardens before a visit to the National Wine Centre for a wine tasting and cheese platter. Tonight is free to explore the city's restaurants which are located around our hotel.

Day 3

Barossa Valley Maggie Beer’s Farm, Barossa Valley Wineries
Today we make our way into the Barossa Valley, with our own private cooking demonstration at Maggie Beer's Farm. Our lesson will take place in the same kitchen that was used for the
filming of The Cook and The Chef TV show. Enjoy a morning with tasting dishes and photo opportunities. There will be demonstrations of how to use the Verjuice that Maggie's farm is renowned for, followed by lunch on the verandah—be sure to try the home made paté. A short distance away is Seppeltsfield, one of the founding wineries of the Barossa, where we
will have a tour and wine tasting to follow. Stop at Mengler's Hill Lookout and take in the view of the valley before continuing on to Tanunda. Perhaps enjoy a German style pastry from one
of the bakeries in the village before making our way back to our hotel. This evening is free to try another local restaurant.

Day 4

Adelaide – Haigh’s Chocolates – d'Arrys Verandah Restaurant – McLaren Vale
Start the day with a tour of the Haigh's Chocolate Factory, for a taste and perhaps a purchase. Making our way south to Reynella, we visit Hardy's Reynella for a tour of the old Chateau before wine tasting from the Hardy's Portfolio. Lunch will be a signature tasting plate at award winning d'Arrys Verandah Restaurant and winery, with spectacular views of the valley. The menu is seasonal with a glass of wine or beer to accompany, making for a very relaxed afternoon. Finally we visit Wirra Wirra Estate for a tour of the original barrel room as well as tastings, before checking into our overnight accommodation.

Day 5

McLaren Vale – Limestone Coast – Coonawarra
This morning we enjoy morning tea on Lake Albert, at the mouth of the mighty Murray River, continuing along the Coorong. Stop for photos at Larry the Lobster at Kingston SE before enjoying lunch in a local hotel. Later we visit Cape Jaffa Lighthouse, which has been relocated from the seaside to the middle of town. This afternoon we stop at a small boutique winery producing cool maritime climate wines, before making our way to Coonawarra for two nights.

Day 6

Coonawarra Premium Cellar Doors and Make Your Own Blend
Today includes time to savour the beautiful Coonawarra Wines, particularly the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon which grow so well in the region. Enjoy tastings at the premier cellar doors
of the Coonawarra district including Wynn's, Bowen Estate, and Katnook Estate. There will be free time for you to relax and purchase your own lunch today. Later this afternoon at Wynns Coonawarra is your very own bottling and blending session where you will be able to craft your own blend of a rich SA red. Tonight Chefs Simon and Erika Bowen will be our hosts at Pipers of Penola. Originally an old Methodist church, it is now one of South Australia’s most distinguished and award winning restaurants, with five state titles. Your seasonal menu will have an emphasis on regional produce.

Day 7

Coonawarra – Tramcar Restaurant – Melbourne
Today our journey heads to Melbourne through the old gold town of Ballarat, skirting the southern end of the Grampians before we check into our Melbourne accommodation. Tonight’s dinner is a Tramcar Dining Experience including a three course dinner with all your beverages included as you take a nostalgic tram tour of Melbourne.

Day 8

Free Day in Melbourne
Today is a free day in Melbourne. There are many attractions open today, or you can just wander around the city. Tonight, we conclude our gourmet food and wine experience with a seat at Pure South. This special occasion restaurant is located in Melbourne CBD overlooking the Yarra River. The cuisine for tonight’s degustation menu draws inspiration from farmers, fishermen and artisan producers from King and Flinders Islands, as well as Tasmania. Ingredients are flowing in weekly, offering only the freshest produce to make this a memorable meal.

Day 9

Melbourne – Yarra Valley Wineries – Home
Start the day with a visit to the Queen Victoria Markets before we venture to the Yarra Valley to explore the tastes of the region. Including Helen’s Hill, Victoria's first vineyard Yerring
Station and then relaxing wtih lunch and champagne tasting at Domaine Chandon, this is a delightful way to end your gourmet touring experience. From here we return to the airport for your flight home, remembering any wine or souvenirs purchased can be left on the coach and collected at a later date from our Thornton or Sandgate depot.
